Chinese shares closed mixed on Wednesday as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.07 percent, or 1.49 points, to end at 2,270.93.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.21 percent, or 19.17 points, to 9,143.44.
