Chinese shares close higher Friday

Chinese shares closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.62 percent, or 13.86 points, to end at 2,246.83.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.23 percent, or 21.08 points, to 9,071.16.
