Chinese shares closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.17 percent, or 3.79 points, to end at 2,174.12.
The Shenzhen Component Index moved up 0.31 percent, or 26.81 points, to 8,718.20.
