Chinese shares closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.02 percent, or 0.35 point, to end at 2,226.13.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.34 percent, or 30.82 points, to 8,962.30.
