Chinese shares close lower Monday

Chinese shares closed lower on Monday, as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.62 percent, or 13.70 points, to end at 2,211.59.

The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.12 percent, or 10.63 points, to 8,953.84.
