Chinese shares slumped Thursday

Chinese shares slumped Thursday, as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went down 2.82 percent, or 64.96 points, to end at 2,236.30.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 2.88 percent, or 265.86 points, to 8,959.26.
