Chinese stocks surged Wednesday

Chinese shares surged Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.66 percent, or 59.94 points, to end at 2,317.37.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 3.14 percent, or 283.93 points, to 9,317.97.
