China stocks close higher Wednesday

Chinese shares closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.87 percent, or 56.76 points, to end at 2,031.91.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 8,091.68, up 3.72 percent, or 289.93 points.
