Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index falling 0.3 percent, or 6.23 points, to finish at 2,098.7.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 8,621.97, down 28.23 points, or 0.33 percent.
