Chinese stocks continued to fall on Wednesday to a new low since February 2009, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 5.97 points, or 0.29 percent, to close at 2,037.68.
The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 1.24 points, or 0.02 percent, to close at 8,242.59.
