Self-employed people who are enterprising and have proper resources feel the best about their jobs in three of China's most developed cities, the Guangzhou-based Yangcheng Evening News reported Wednesday, citing the results of a newly released survey.

Compared to public workers and company employees, self-employed people are more satisfied with their salaries and career achievement, though they feel a bit unstable about their jobs, according to the survey of 2,001 residents in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

People working in government and state-owned companies feel less pressure and more stable about their jobs, though they are less satisfied with their salaries than self-employed people and foreign company employees. While both foreign company and private business workers claim to have a lot of job pressures, the former on the whole feel better about their jobs than the latter.

Geographically speaking, Shanghai workers gave the most positive feedback about their salaries and felt the best about their jobs, while Beijing workers were the least satisfied with their salaries.
